Today we’re focusing on a young female athlete in track and field who injured her back when she was in college doing sports. Now on occasion, sometimes, she still has some tightness and pain in her lower back, so she’s come here for help, and we’re gonna do everything we can to fix her up today. Additionally, recently she’s become a music producer so she gets a lot of tightness in her shoulders in her neck all the way from the other computer a lot more restraining looking down so we’re also gonna work with the muscles of her neck make sure everything’s in good alignment and get her feeling good.

All right let’s lay face down. I’ve already done an examination in the examination room she’s very healthy, 20 years old so there are no major issues a couple of things that are out of alignment areas of tightness that we talked about right into it today. Go that in there around okay that’s going to kind of the muscles of the tendons all the tissue starts to stick together we call those adhesions so we’re just kind of work to kind of break that up a little bit if the pressures too much please let me know I’m actually a little bit of this tool today and just glide along here. This just smooths out the tissue and breaks up any adhesions like we said where the tissue sticks together, we’re also gonna apply some range of motion as well to get it moving correctly. When we checked her range of motion, she had a significant reduction in turning her head to the right as opposed to the left, so we’re gonna address that today and see after the treatment if that’s improved so I’m sure there will be improved whether it’s gonna be completely normal after one treatment we’ll see sometimes this requires multiple treatments, but we’re gonna get as much done as we can today. Now next, what I’d like to do is just take his arm, you just kind of push it over your head like this we do it a few times you find yourself nice and slow down here and then up good keep going excellent three two more good. Alright so a lot of her pain is centralized, so we’re just going to make sure that everything’s in the right position I could already tell that she’s rotated to the right, and her hips on the lower spine you can see that this site is kind of raised compared to the right when we check the leg she’s not too bad a little bit off, and we’re bringing them up even ok so we’re just gonna work on facilitating some motion between these joints here remove any restrictions before we do our adjustment get everything into a good position.

Remedial Massage

A lot of the glute muscles, the piriformis muscle ties into this, so we’re gonna work for those muscles as well. Okay now we’re going to do a little bit of percussion music since it’s like a drum and it feels like a massage, and this percussion helps to again loosen up the tissue but more importantly bring some blood to the area you get more blood more oxygen. Use these blocks today applies a little pressure. And we’re just going to stretch, and it’s natural these blocks help to open up some of the joint spaces. Okay, next you’re going to feel the table lift up we’re going to do is we’re going to work to get this tip into better alignment in the lumbar spine to remove some of that rotation.

Cross these arms like this, injure yourself because you’ve been doing such a great job today, and then I’m gonna give you a hug take a deep breath in and let it go good again one more time let it go perfectly all right now relax. Okay when I palpated her earlier a lot of her tension was in her shoulders and her trap muscles, of course, they made it between her shoulder blades, not too much in her neck, but the neck does tie in for this because the way the muscles attached and the way the joints move at how the nerves descend.

So we found a couple of areas of misalignment. We’re going to apply a little bit of distraction to open up the joint and disc spaces. Are you okay of this pressure see a lot of times when you’re working on the computer a lot or the phone carries your head forward and it feels like your head’s just so much heavier than it is, so what we’re doing here with the adjustment and this is pulse distraction we’re just alleviating all that heaviness on your shoulders and neck You see the difference? Pretty much wrong now what I do want you to do is put your head to the left and to the right good that’s good last I’m gonna do is we’re just going to stand obviously another check your posture so if you can stand and face that way okay arms by sides together we want to make sure that we removed as much that rotation as we could do a little more so keep your feet planted and what I want you to do is I want you to turn from hips as far as you go this way keep your head in line with your chest like you’re doing hold a position and I’m actually gonna stretch you a little more over.

Marching now stops near perfect it’s almost there but I think we did as much as we can today, so how do they go out that feel? It felt good. So we adjusted the back, the neck and the shoulders you should feel a big difference with this again, it’s one treatment, so it’s gonna have an effect if it’s still bothering you, it’s all we have today we’ll see you next time.
